the side we don't see

maybe i should just follow the norm
no matter how much i disagree with it
maybe i should be like the typical guy
checking out every girl that walks by
maybe that helps her feel good about herself
but it shouldn't be that way
when i hang my head as i pass
it is NOT because i don't want to look you up and down
but it is because i know you are more than the flesh and blood that you're made of
you are more than a some of all your decisions
i will not be like other guys and care for what's outside
